It may seem counter-intuitive to some, but bean-to-cup or filter machines aren't always the most responsible way to drink coffee. Whether it's the amount of coffee used per cup, the way the water is heated, or the size of the machines, there are many factors that factor into the carbon impact of a cup of coffee, and make capsules a consumption method with a bright future. 1- La quantité de café
Passer au grain, peut être à première vue une bonne idée, parce qu’on va diminuer la quantité d’emballage à usage unique. Certes, mais la quantité de café par tasse peut être de 30 à 80% supérieure que dans une capsule.
Or l'étape la plus émettrice c'est... la culture des grains ! Pour plus de 40%. Et c'est là que la machine à capsule vient se démarquer des autres .
Pourquoi ? Parce que les capsules permettent de réduire les quantités de café, lors de la préparation d’un café.
2- Le poids des machines
De plus Les machines à capsules comme la Nespresso® Pixie pèsent environ 2,8 kg, tandis que des machines à grains comme la De'Longhi Magnifica pèsent 9,2 kg. Grossièrement, il faudrait remplacer 3 machines à capsules par une seule à grains. 3- Passer au filtre
Quand on prend un café en filtre ou un café soluble, une partie importante de l’énergie consommée sert à chauffer de l’eau qui ne sera pas utilisée. Avec une machine à capsules, seule l'eau nécessaire est chauffée, optimisant ainsi la consommation d'énergie, et l’impact carbone du café consommé.
